This year is full of research! Students have been  to Canada, now they are on a virtual fieldtrip to Mexico. Students have been on a virtual field trip to Mexico to learn about the different states, culture and way of living. They are currently writing an electronic postcard to a friend or family member about their trip. Students have learned about the many municipalities of their state. Ask your child if they know what's a municipality or if they can describe the meaning of their states coat-of-arms. I'm sure they can tell you about the intricate details that they had to draw!  What a great group of writers and artists! Their postcards really will make you want to go on a vacation there! Student continue to focus on keyboardking skills twice a week through the Sunburst program called Type to Learn 3. There has even been some students that have completed Sunburst and have advanced to Maevis Beacon!  Congratulations! I'm sure you have noticed a big difference in their typing already, since September! Software Tidbits is the maker of Type to Learn 3. There is a free 30 day trial available for download. If your child really likes it, you can purchase a home version of the software online at Sunburst.com or in your neighborhood software store.

Students have found a new love for math through Math Blaster the Master the Basics version. This can be downloaded from the Knowledge Adventure website for $24.99 for immediate play. Students learn addition, subtraction, multiplication and division by collecting numbers and building their answers to given problems. It's action packed and fun!
